If you're searching for things to do in Istanbul that truly connect you with local culture, nothing compares to a cooking class in Istanbul inside a real home. Step into a warm and welcoming Turkish household, where a local mom will invite you into her kitchen to share the secrets of authentic home-cooked recipes passed down through generations. Whether it's rolling dolma, kneading dough for börek, or preparing a table full of mezes, every dish has a story—one that speaks of tradition, family, and the little details that make Turkish cuisine so special.
Before your visit, we’ll chat about your dietary preferences so we can tailor the menu just for you. When you arrive, you won’t just be learning how to cook—you’ll be immersed in Turkish home hospitality, where cooking is an experience shared with laughter, storytelling, and warmth. You'll discover how food differs across regions, the meaning behind traditional dishes, and the love that goes into every meal.
More than just a class, this is a chance to experience Turkish home life firsthand. As you cook together, you’ll feel like part of the family—learning, chatting, and soaking in the warmth of a real home. And when everything is ready, we’ll gather around the table to enjoy the homemade feast, sharing stories, flavors, and unforgettable moments.
You may arrive as a guest, but by the time we share a meal, you’ll be part of the family. In our home, food is more than just nourishment—it’s a way to connect, build friendships, and create memories that will stay with you long after you leave. 🧡

What an amazing experience!! Nuran and her family are absolutely lovely people. They treated me like I was part of the family and is something special. We talked, laughed, made delicious dinner and then all sat down and ate together. This is an experience I will cherish and never forget! Don’t believe book this experience and try it yourself

An experience we will not soon forget. Nuran welcomed us into her home as if we were family, and we sure felt that way after we left. This was not just about the cooking, which was a big part of it. It was also about the experience of breaking bread with new friends in a new country, sharing life experiences and enjoying each other’s company. We requested and received transport to her home, and as it turned out, the driver is her nephew. A good kid named Faith, who joined us for our meal. Nuran’s husband also ate with us on his work lunch break, and her son’s girlfriend stopped in, too. It felt like we were in a TV show, where everyone pops in to eat! We loved it! When we arrived, we were invited to enjoy a lemonade drink and a pastry before we started cooking. Then it was into the kitchen we went! Nuran (with our help!) prepared a special meal for me, as a vegetarian, and also meat for my husband and the others who popped in. There was so much food!!! Good thing the family helped us eat it all. It was a special experience and a cultural connection we are grateful to have had.

I thoroughly enjoyed the cooking class with local moms. I had such a strong appreciation for the sense of community and family that I felt in this lovely modest Turkish household. I thoroughly enjoy learning how to cook Turkish cuisine and be a main contributor to cooking food that was shared with seven other individuals. It was like being home away from home. Great food, great company. The sharing of culture, language and each other Instagram accounts. An experience that I will remember when I think of my visit to Istanbul.
