Join a rustic Turkish cooking experience in a quiet mountain village above Fethiye. In a wide garden surrounded by olive trees, you'll cook over an open wood fire just like the Yörüks — the nomadic people of this region — have done for generations. The host, from the small local brand Cafer Çavuş, will guide you in preparing traditional dishes like kuru fasulye with rice, eggplant kebab, gözleme, homemade bread, and seasonal wild herbs gathered from the hills.

You’ll cook together in the open air and eat under the trees, with goats grazing nearby and the scent of firewood in the breeze. As your host says: “To understand Turkish food, you must first feel the land it comes from. That’s why we cook like this.”

This is more than a meal — it’s a deep dive into Yörük cooking, outdoor living, and a way of life still alive in Türkiye’s countryside.

Cooking outdoors with fire gave the food a whole new flavor. Our host was fantastic, and the setting felt like something out of a movie!
