Learn to Make Homemade Turkish Baklava in Ankara
Step into a cozy home in Dikmen, Ankara, and experience how real Turkish baklava is made — not the store-bought kind, but the kind families prepare with love and care. This traditional dessert is made from scratch, just like it has been for generations in Turkish kitchens. 💛
You’ll start with tea and homemade snacks, then roll up your sleeves to make every part of the baklava by hand: the syrup, the walnut filling, and the delicate yufka layers. Together, we’ll build the baklava step by step before baking it to golden perfection. 🥄
While it bakes, we’ll prepare a savory börek and a refreshing meze like kısır or lentil balls. Then comes the best part — sitting down to enjoy everything we’ve made over Turkish coffee and warm conversation. ☕✨
👋 Come as a guest, leave as a friend.
This is a hands-on Ankara cooking class with all ingredients provided. You’ll leave with a full belly, new stories, and the recipes to recreate it all at home. 📝
🔸 Please note:
• This baklava contains walnuts and is not suitable for guests with nut allergies.
• The class lasts around 4 hours — because real baklava takes time, and we don’t rush good things. 🕰️

What do our guests say?
The host was truly exceptional. The food lesson was informative and it feels like something I can bring home and teach others. His English was AMAZING for only 9 months. Food was 10/10, the group had so much fun. Thank you!!

Glimpse of a Turk citizen life. It’s a short experience involving Turk citizen life with a young thriving Turk family. You can hardly ever get a chance to taste fresh Baklava made from the scratch with ingredients from a common kitchen at home . Nonetheless, preparing other two traditional Turk food (Kisir & Borek) was also really enjoyable. Turkish hospitality from this young family was beyond any rating .

We really enjoyed the Baklava experience. We were warmly welcomed by Fatma and we felt immediately at home. We were able to do everything ourselves with her help. At the end, we were treated to some delicious homemade baklava. If you love baking or are interested in learning something new, don't hesitate to book a spot. You will definitely enjoy it. Much love to Fatma and her husband.
