Börek (Spinach and cheese )

Börek with spinach and cheese; baked until golden and crisp.

Ingredients:

• 3–4 sheets of phyllo dough (yufka)
• 500 g spinach (washed and chopped)
• 1 onion (optional)
• Salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes
• 1 egg (for brushing on top)

Sauce ingredients
• 50 ml water
• 50 ml olive oil
• 50 ml milk
• 2 tablespoons flour

Steps for

Börek (Spinach and cheese )

1. Prepare the spinach filling; In a bowl; mix the spinach; onion and spices.; Knead lightly to combine.
2. Assemble the börek; Lay a sheet of phyllo dough on the counter and brush it lightly with the sauce.; Spread the spinach filling evenly over the dough.; Roll or fold the dough into your desired shape.
3. Bake; Brush the top with a beaten egg.; Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (356°F) until golden brown; about 30 minutes.
