Patlıcan Musakka – Eggplants with Minced Meat

Steps for

Patlıcan Musakka – Eggplants with Minced Meat

Firstly, eggplants need to be washed. They are peeled as stripes shape. They are then cut to four slices longitudinally. Then, the slices are cut to 2cm pieces. They are put in baking tray and 1/2 glass oil is poured on them. Then, the tray is put to oven in 180 celsius degrees until the color of the eggplants change. We need to mix the tray a couple of times while it’s in the oven.

Meanwhile, we will be preparing the mixture of the dish. In a pot, we put the rest of the oil. We cut the onion to small cubes and pepper to small rings. We also cut the tomatoes to small pieces. Then, we put to onion to the pot and start cooking them. Once they are roasted, the peppers are added and they are also roasted. The minced meat is added to the pot. We then add the tomato sauce, red pepper, black pepper and salt. We start mixing them. After that, the tomatoes are added. 1 glass water is added. After cooking for 10 minutes, we spread the mixture in the pot to the eggplants on baking tray. Then we put the tray back to the oven, cook them for 30-40 minutes on 180-200 celsius degrees. The dish is ready to be served.
