Revani – Semolina Cake with Syrup

Ingredients:

Steps for
Revani – Semolina Cake with Syrup
1. Prepare the syrup first: Mix sugar and water in a pot, bring to a boil. Once it starts boiling, continue for 5–10 minutes. Add a few drops of lemon juice, then remove from heat and let it cool completely.
2. Prepare the cake batter: In a mixing bowl, combine eggs, sugar, oil, and yogurt. Mix well.
3. Add semolina, vanilla, and baking powder. Stir again.
4. Finally, add the flour and optional citrus zest. Mix until smooth.
5. Pour the batter into a greased baking tray.
6. Bake in a preheated oven at 170°C (340°F) for about 25–30 minutes until golden on top.
7. Once out of the oven, while the cake is still hot, pour the cooled syrup over it after cutting it into slices.
