Turkish Manti Recipe

Turkish manti dumplings with garlic yogurt and butter-tomato sauce.

Ingredients:

For the dough:

3 cups flour
1 cup water
1 egg
1 teaspoon salt

For the filling:

250 g ground beef (medium-fat)
1 onion (grated)
Salt, black pepper

For the sauce:

2 tablespoons butter
1 tablespoon tomato paste

For the topping:

2 cups yogurt
2 cloves garlic
Red pepper flakes, dried mint

For the dough:

Steps for

Turkish Manti Recipe

1. Prepare the dough; Place the flour in a mixing bowl and make a well in the center.
2. Add the egg; salt; and water gradually.; Knead into a medium-firm dough that doesn’t stick to your hands.
3. Cover and let rest for 20 minutes.; Prepare the filling
4.Mix the ground beef with grated onion; salt; and black pepper.
5. Roll out the dough; Divide the dough into 2–3 pieces. Roll each one out into thin sheets.
6. Cut into small squares (about 1.5 cm).
7. Fill the dumplings; Place a tiny amount of filling in the center of each square.
8. Fold and seal the edges tightly.; Cook the manti; Boil them in salted water.
9. When the dumplings rise to the surface; they are cooked.
10. Prepare the garlic yogurt; Mix the yogurt with crushed garlic.
11. Prepare the sauce; Melt the butter in a pan; add tomato paste; and stir.
12. Add red pepper flakes.; Serve; Place the boiled manti on a plate.
13. Top with garlic yogurt; drizzle with the butter-tomato sauce; and sprinkle with dried mint.; Serve hot
